ESRA Rehovot Branch

For most of human history, humans lived by hunting and gathering. Today, the Nyaka people living in South India are one of the few groups that preserve this way of life. What characterizes their unique lifestyle? How do they perceive and understand their world, maintain an egalitarian lifestyle and educate the children?

Dr. Daniel Naveh, has a master's degree in prehistoric archeology and a PhD in anthropology. He lectures in the Department of Anthropology at Bar-Ilan University and the School of Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University. He lived for over a year with the Nyaka.
