Black and White Mysteries: Solving Unidentified Photos
with Michal Minsky

online via zoom

This talk is about solving and "deciphering" photos with missing location information about Tel Aviv, the first Hebrew City.
What tools are available to us when we want to decipher historical photos, and how do we try to understand where they were taken and gather as much information as possible about them?
We will enjoy black and white Israeli nostalgia and together try to solve some photos.
Join Michal for an hour of mysteries, iconic buildings, and the magic of a city which is long gone.

Michal Minsky is the archivist of the PhotoHouse, Israel’s oldest photo shop.
Michal was born and raised in Tel Aviv and has guided tours of the city for over a decade.
She has a BA in Art History from Tel Aviv University and has worked at the Bauhaous Center, the PhotoHouse and Eretz Israel Museum.
She specializes in Tel Aviv and old Israeli photography history.
