The participants and tutors in Kfar Saba's "Students Build a Neighborhood" project recently celebrated the end of this year's program with an exciting outing to Kibbutz Gan Shmuel. Omri, who leads the project's "Outward Bound" group, is a member of the kibbutz and arranged a day out in the country for these city children. After a delicious picnic on the lawn each participant was given a T-shirt bearing the ESRA logo. They all piled onto tractors for a tour of the kibbutz with explanations at each site – the cowsheds, fish ponds, etc.
The best treat of theday was a seminar on juggling given by three young kibbutzniks. Each child was taught how to juggle - balls, plates, diabolo spools - they loved it and didn't want to stop! But the afternoon was ending and there was yet another treat awaiting them back in Kfar Saba. The parents had arranged a surprise party at the Ethiopean Community Center for the tired but happy youngsters and their Beit Berl College tutors.
A great way to end the day and the year!
