ESRA at thirty is a remarkable organization. It began as a group of English-speaking new immigrants who sought the ease and familiarity of socializing with other English speakers. It has grown into a registered charitable organization which presents to the public a rich array of social, cultural and educational activities and services as well as over thirty projects in the community for those new olim and veteran Israelis in need of support.

Opportunities for Volunteering
Follow the orange headlines below to find out what volunteering opportunities there may be for you.
Volunteering Together for the Community
One of ESRA's aims is to encourage English speakers in Israel to volunteer in the community. By doing so the "newcomer" feels part of the surroundings and a contributing member of society. And, of course, Israeli society is all the richer for their input.
There are many different areas of volunteering to suit every individual's personality and/or area of expertise. ESRA has a volunteer coordinator who is willing to discuss your suitability and time availability for one of the worthwhile volunteering activities that ESRA is involved in.
Rishon Lezion
The ESRA Rishon Lezion branch, which covers the area of Rishon Lezion, Nes Ziona and surrounding towns was formed in early 2008 and has an active membership. Rishon's activities, which continue to expand, include volunteer tutoring, a knitting club, a cinema club, a book exchange and other social activities for members and non-members.
Modiin
ESRA Modiin arranges a variety of exciting and interesting social events throughout the year that range from lectures and concerts to brunches, movie screenings and game evenings. Additionally, there are regular activities and programs as well as joint events with other organizations. We extend a helping hand to all Anglo newcomers, working closely with the Absorption Department of the Modiin Municipality.
