Ethiopian Embroidery Project
Description of the Project :
Beautiful, ethnic embroidery by skilled craftsmen and women done right in their homes - enabling them to supplement their income while caring for their families.
How the Project Works :
Fifty women and men using their talent, rich history and traditional patterns, embroider:
- mezzuzot and kippot
- hamsot and pictures for framing
- bags and spectacle cases
- challah and matzah covers,
- ark curtains and other items.

The project is organized and run by volunteers who also market the goods in Israel and abroad.
Ethiopian participants in the ESRA Netanya Sewing Centers are employed to sew the articles together.

Groups meet in Kfar Saba, Netanya, Rehovot, Rosh Ha'ayin and Yavneh.
