Welcome to ESRA's Newsletter for September If you can't see this page properly please click on this link The whole world has been suffering from extremes of climate, and we hope you have managed to stay comfortable over the past few weeks of heat wave all over Israel. Grey clouds are scudding across the sky as I write this, and the migrating birds are preparing for their seasonal journey, auguring the changing of the seasons, hopefully some cooler weather, and the arrival of the High Holydays. The editor of this Newsletter, together with the Executive Committee of ESRA, takes this opportunity to wish you all a new year of health, happiness and fulfillment. ESRA will continue to carry out its threefold aims: to provide interesting activities for English speakers in Israel; to encourage volunteering in the community as a means of feeling part of the community; and to maintain and extend our meaningful projects to help the weaker sections of our society.Shana Tova! At this time of year activities in ESRA are few, although much planning is going on. Tickets for the Gala Performance with international star Achinoam Nini at the Tel Aviv Opera, are available at a reduced price if you purchase before Wednesday 1st September. Order your tickets by following this link. September's Project of the Month focuses on the students who act as mentors in our unique 'Students Build a Neighborhood' project. What better way to start the New Year with a donation to improve the lives of the families in these problem areas. |
