Social Club for Handicapped Youth
Description of the Project :
Offering handicapped youth a social framework, reducing their isolation and increasing their social skills.
How the Project Works :
Handicapped youth need social activities with their peers as much as all youth do. ESRA pays for the salary of the group leader, who organizes the programs. ESRA volunteers help with the organisation and provide support. They meet together weekly to participate in joint social activities: parties; trips; meetings with interesting people; cultural performances and photographic courses.
Lat year, a photographic exhibition of their works was opened at the Weil Center,
in conjunction with volunteer students from the world of media. The photographs and catalogues were be exhibited at 3 more venues.
This year the dynamic group leader is hoping to organize a theatrical workshop and a communications workshop.

About the Participants :
Currently, 17 handicapped teenagers from the Sharon area, together with volunteers from Seminar ha Kibbutzim, ESRA and others.
