Programmes of Excellence at The Ruppin Institute of Marine Science
Description of the Project :
Encouraging talented underprivileged teenagers to fulfill their potential by providing them with a challenging program of enrichment.and leadership training. Two programs are now running since September 2011. One concentrated on motivated Ethiopian teenagers which is in it's fourth year and the newest one for motivated teenagers of all backgrounds from the underprivielged areas of Netanya.
How the Project Works :
"The teenagers are given courses in biology, chemistry, computer skills, marine science and ecology once a week for 3 hours. They are colelcted form school and given lunch on the way. About the Participants :
8th & 9th grade Ethiopian children from South Netanya are taken to the Ruppin Marine Science Institute in Mevuoth Yam, Mikhmoret
7th grade underprivileged children of all ages have started a new course this year at the Ruppin Marine Science Institute.

ESRA provides these two groups with a 3 year course which gives them not only academic advancement, but also leadership and life skills.
