Netanya Youth Center
Description of the Project :
Creating a warm environment to assist teenage classroom dropouts to remain in a supportive educational framework and to return to their school environment.
How the Project Works :
- The center is a temporary alternative framework that operates five days a week from 9:30 to 16:00
- It provides educational, emotional and social support through a learning center, recreational and enrichment activities (art, psychodrama, therapy with animals, camping, etc.) , individual therapy, a hot lunch and more.
- The length of stay in a temporary center varies according to individual needs and can range between one month and a maximum of one year.
- At the end of stay in the Center the staff will recommend and arrange a program to continue supporting these teenagers in an educational institution tailored to the needs and abilities of each child.
About the Participants :
The Center absorbs up to 15 boys and girls who have dropped out of the framework of normative school education.
They are referred by various sources in the community - the youth probation service, Welfare Division, Department of Youth Advancement, the truancy department, mental health clinic etc.
