October 19 heralded a fanfare opening of the ESRA Bookshop in the Azrieli Mall. Moish Levy, Deputy Mayor of Modiin performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and Rabbi Adi Sultanik affixed the mezzuza.
This exciting occasion was attended by Merle Guttman, Founder and Life President of ESRA, Linda Olmert, ESRA's Executive Director, Azrieli Mall director Yoram Pick, bookshop volunteers, and other Modiin residents.

Merle praised ESRA Modiin for their huge achievement and recalled her first meeting with Jackie Klein, co-chair of ESRA only a year and a half ago and was amazed at all that we have accomplished. Moish Levy mentioned that ESRA Modiin has the highest percentage of volunteers of any city in Israel.

A special presentation was made to Frank Giron, a long standing ESRA supporter and volunteer. His enthusiasm helped make the bookshop a reality. Cynthia Barmor, co-chair of Esra Modin, thanked the many professionals and businesses who provided their services for free with a L'Chaim to all who assisted in the many varied planning stages of the bookstore. We are ecstatic over the success of this bookstore.
