HIKE in Ramat Menashe area

Tuesday 25 September - Hol Hamo'ed Succot -  RAMAT MENASHE

According to UNESCO Ramat Menashe comprises a mosaic of ecological systems that are amongst the finest in the Mediterranean region.

Our starting point is Kibbutz Mishmar HaEmek (guard of the valley), created in 1926, the first settlement in the south-western Jezreel valley and one of the few kibbutzim that hasn’t been privatized.

We begin our hike by climbing up to a hill top view point and then follow the trail down into one of the most beautiful valleys in Israel with great views.

We then continue up to Nahal Hashofet, cross over a stream, and finish near to the entrance to Ein HaEmek.

Hikers should come properly prepared for each hike:  plenty of water (2 litres per person in normal weather, at least 3 litres per person if it’s hot, good walking boots or shoes, change of clothes/towel if swimming, hat, sunscreen and food for breakfast & lunch in a backpack.  Walking poles optional, but useful.

ESRA hikes are suitable for people in good health.  We reserve the right to refuse participation on the hike to any person who does not come properly equipped or is not physically capable of making the distance.
