Project of the Month

These programs allow talented underprivileged teenagers to fulfill their potential by providing them with a challenging program of enrichment and leadership training at the Ruppin Institute of Marine Science. Talented 7th graders from all backgrounds of Israeli society in the lower socio-economic levels are chosen - programs run for 2 years.

Hiking Club

hikers_heading.jpgESRA has been organising hikes since 1993, initially on Saturdays, and more recently Midweek.

ESRA hikes take place monthly on a Tuesday or Wednesday from September to June, and are designed for good walkers who like to hike in Israel's varied natural and geographical areas and to meet new people in fresh air surroundings. The hikes include easy - moderate walks as well as hard, usually between 8 -13 km. and are led by a professional accredited guide.

Travel is by bus with pick up points in suitable locations.

maale_eli.jpgHikers should come properly prepared for each hike: plenty of water (2 litres per person in normal weather, at least 3 litres per person if it's hot), good walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, and food for breakfast and lunch in a backpack. Walking poles are advisable. Torch, swimming gear and change of clothes where suitable.

N.B. We reserve the right to refuse participation on the hike to any person who does not come properly equipped or is not physically capable of making the distance!!!

Cost of each hike: NIS 165; ESRA members NIS 135

Registration in advance with ESRA Raanana office Tel. 09-748 2957

There is a cancellation fee of NIS 20, and we reserve the right to retain the full amount if someone does not turn up for the hike and has not informed us more than 48 hours prior to the hike.
