Project of the Month

These programs allow talented underprivileged teenagers to fulfill their potential by providing them with a challenging program of enrichment and leadership training at the Ruppin Institute of Marine Science. Talented 7th graders from all backgrounds of Israeli society in the lower socio-economic levels are chosen - programs run for 2 years.

Haifa area

In 2011 an ESRA Branch was formed for English speakers living in the Haifa Bay towns (the Krayot), Kiryat Tivon and the surrounding areas.

In January 2014, a separate branch was formed for the Haifa city area. A guided beach walk was their first activity in April, followed by a successful meeting with a guest speaker at 'Or Hadash' in Hantke St. attracting over 60 people.

The branch organises monthly lectures hosting a wide variety of speakers and topics as well as occasional games and music evenings. Since January 2015 monthly meetings are held on the first Sunday of the month at 19.30 at their new regular venue, Bet Hecht in Central Carmel.

A successful Pesach picnic was held in 2015 in the Carmel Forest in the hope that it will become a regular feature.

Two of our members offer classes with proceeds to ESRA - Painting Classes with Marion  054-425 3333 & Photography Classes with Sybil Shapiro  054-454 0232.

Marsha is planning a local monthly e-newspaper  with other volunteers. Call  050-228 0755 if you want to help.
