    For over a decade now we have been running programs and creating content to help adults deal with attention deficit issues and lead more productive and balanced lives. And they said that a group of ADHD adults couldn’t keep a group going very long. Ha! I guess we’re doing something right.

    ESRA Rehovot is launching a pilot program for “Conversational English for Oral Bagrut” in the upcoming school year. We are a small but enthusiastic core of volunteers enabling us to offer help in two high schools, WIZO and De Shalit.

    ESRA Cinema Clubs are sprouting up in the most unlikely of places.....

    Following the success of the Raanana Cinema Club which has been running since 1995 showing quality documentaries in English followed by a discussion, Netanya followed suit in 2009. This year Rehovot, Zichron and Modiin are each developing their local clubs, now joined by Rishon Lezion. Their new programmes will be starting up in October - you be able to check it out by following the Cinema Club link under activities.

    ESRA's branch in Modiin, spearheaded by Jackie and Cynthia, has announced their programme for the new season,
    Their new bookshop “esrabooks” , located in the Azrieli Mall, will open its doors in time to catch the Succot Hol Hamoed shoppers on Sunday, Sept 19th. They have a wide range of books to suit all ages, plus a willing team of helpers and aim to initiate English Story Time in the mall in October.

    A visit to the Computer Center at Neot Shaked, Netanya, turned into one of the best mornings! comp.jpg The summer course funded by ESRA was filled with kids doing a really serious course on creating computer games, programming their own special games under the eagle eye of the group leader.

    The Tlamim Therapeutic Riding Center had its end of year party last week . It was a really wonderful afternoon attended by  all the parents and children in the project, Jewish and Arab, Ethiopian, North African, Western European, all with the common goal of giving these severely handicapped children the time of their lives!

    English speakers from all over the Galil gathered at the Municipal Auditorium in Karmiel to hear Jerusalem comedian, David Kilimnick in his 'Aliyah Monologues'.

    The event, jointly organised by ESRA's newest Branch in Karmiel/Misgav area and the Nefesh B'Nefesh 'Go North' team, attracted over a hundred new Olim (and not-so-new Olim) who enjoyed David's special brand of humor.

    Nina_award.jpg ESRA's Co-chair, Nina Zuck was honoured on Monday 26th July at a ceremony in the 'Gan Hamelech' Amphitheatre in Netanya when she was one of ten of the town's residents to receive the Mayor's Citation for Outstanding Volunteers.

    Most people knew the history of their items and had some idea what they were worth but some were quite surprised on hearing the valuation.
