Dr. Boaz Hoffman will be speaking on “Adventures of a Religious Jew Studying in China”
Dr. Hoffman will discuss his adventures in China and show numerous slides taken during his stay. He lived there while doing his residency as part of his doctoral studies in Chinese medicine, where he specialized in cancer treatment. Some of his experiences include living through a major earthquake, whose epicenter was near his hospital in Chendu, making a Passover seder and keeping kosher during his stay at Chinese hotels, together with his non-Jewish classmates. He will describe how Chinese medicine can help those suffering from cancer.
Dr. Hoffman studied at Or Etzion Talmudic College (Hesder Yeshiva), Shafir, Israel, received a Master's degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, San Diego, CA and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from Bastyr University, Kenmore, WA (with specialized training in oncology). He has also done internships at several hospitals in China and the U.S., and has taken specialized courses in Oriental medicine and treatments for pregnancy, pediatrics, homotoxicology, pulse diagnosis, acupuncture formulas, psychology of herbs, special needling techniques and chemical dependency. Dr. Hoffman is licensed to practice in the states of Florida, Washington, New York, California and Connecticut. He is presently a Senior Acupuncturist at the Sheba Medical Center, Oncology Institute, and expects to open his private clinic in the Rehovot area in the near future.
