ESRA Kfar Saba-Hod Hasharon OPEN HOUSE 'British Royal Scandals'

Event Date and Time:
17 December, 10:00

a talk by David L. Young

Did you know…‎
•    At least 6 English kings were probably gay and that Queen Mary was a kleptomaniac ‎
•    At least a dozen kings kept mistresses (often with their wives’ knowledge) and that ‎one of them reigned in the 20th century ‎
•    One king was rumoured to have had his unfaithful wife’s lover murdered and then ‎buried under the floorboards
•    Queen Victoria may not have been as prim and proper as we were taught in school

A light-hearted look at the seamier side of the British Royal family and will show how it has ‎always supplied salacious rumours and headlines over the past thousand years.‎

David L. Young was born and educated in England and came on Aliyah in 1968. Since then he ‎taught English and history in high school and university classes as well as in adult education ‎courses. He has written 15 historical novels which have been published in Israel, the UK and ‎the USA. He is a past chairman of the Jerusalem Shakespeare Club and is the treasurer of the ‎Jerusalem branch of the Jewish History Society. ‎
