ESRA hike in the Mt. Meron Nature Reserve

ESRA HIKE IN THE MT. MERON NATURE RESERVE

The hike starts near the Har Meron field school with a long, but not hard, climb. We then continue to Hurvat Al-Jermak, with its fascinating story, and continue through the Druse orchards to their memorial of Druse history. We walk by a spring along Nachal Meron down towards Tsfat.

Along the way we will see beautiful flowers and wonderful views. Mount Meron is the largest Nature Reserve in Northern  Israel, classed as a nature reserve in 1942 by the British. The mountain is surrounded by many tombs of the tzadikim, the most important being Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai who is credited with writing the Zohar.
