English for Schools
- Helping students with Oral Bagrut exams in English
- Tutoring students referred by the municipal services
- Assisting in English classes in local schools
ESRA's 'English for Schools' program matches English speaking volunteers with school pupils from Grades 4 to 12 in order to improve their English.
Some of the programs require trained experienced teachers, and some require no teaching background at all, just the ability to speak your native English language.
Volunteer teachers offer their help in schools on a regular one to one basis, or in small groups in coordination with the class teacher.
Volunteers are also needed to speak English with teenagers preparing for their oral Bagrut examination (no previous teaching experience necessary - just a willingness to chat with students on suitable subjects on the syllabus).
Workshops for volunteer English Tutors are held periodically at Beit Fisher, Raanana. Call 09-748 2957 if you would like to participate in a future workshop.
This ESRA programme operates in Herzlia, Hod Hasharon, Kfar Saba, Netanya, Raanana, Ramat Hasharon, Tel Aviv and other areas.
