'Cash in the Boydem' with ESRA's Summer programme

News Date:
18. July 2010 - 8:00
Last Tuesday an enthusiastic audience brought along an assortment of items including teapots, dishes, cutlery, canisters, silver Kiddush cups and other Judaica, and glassware. Cas_inBoydemviolin_July_2010.JPG

Most people knew the history of their items and had some idea what they were worth but some were quite surprised on hearing the valuation.

Aryeh Gance was this year's antiques expert who appraised peoples treasures.  First he explained the different values given for antiques – a price for sellers, and buyers, and for insurance purposes.

It was a most interesting and informative morning  - we learnt a lot. The morning ended with Aryeh, a specialist in silverware, who handed round a few items for us to guess if they were silver or not.
