Die
With Dignity
The Israeli Society for the Right to Live and Die with Dignity
(Lilach) has been active since 1987 and is working hard to get
the Bill through Knesset. Although only the first reading has
so far been passed, most doctors in Israeli Hospitals accept a
Living Will, as long as both the patient and the family agree.
For this reason, we in the Society ask that everyone who makes
out a Living Will, makes sure that their families understand and
accept their wishes, so that if the time should come when it is
to be activated, no problems will arise with family members refusing
to accept it. To join the Society (membership fee NIS 80 per annum)
and for any further information in English, please call Ruth
Lee 09-7412652.
