Photography group
A new ESRA Photography Group started holding meetings in May 2006. At the first meeting guest speaker, Sammy Somekh, representative in Israel of the Photographic Society of America, talked about International competitions, photojournalism and travel photography, illustrated with slides.
Meetings are now held on the the 3rd Thursday of every month
at Beit Fisher, 5 Klausner St. Ra'anana.

48+ groups
Modiin has a 48+ group organising monthly get-togethers on a Saturday evening usually with a guest speaker on a topic of general interest. Held in members' homes.

55+ groups
New group forming December 2007 in the Sharon area for ladies between ages 55-65 meeting for social activities - conversations over coffee, concerts, plays, pot-luck Friday night dinner etc. Any like minded ladies who would like to participate please contact Judy at ESRA 09-748 2957.

NEW SOCIALITY SESSIONS
Our first meeting took place on Friday 7th December 2007 for PERSIAN LUNCH at the Eden Restaurant in Neve Sha'anan, Tel Aviv.


Golden Age Club in Herzliya
This group, ESRA's longest running social group, moved in December 2007 to a new time and venue. It now meets every Monday at 15:30 at Beit Juliana in Herzlia Tzeira, or in members' homes . Membership is open to anyone over the age of 60. A varied programme of activities includes guest speakers and celebrations of birthdays and festivals. New members always welcome.

OPEN HOUSE in Kfar Saba
Everyone is invited to ESRA's Open House, an informal get together at the Kfar Saba Branch clubhouse in the shelter at 11 Nachshon St.
Refreshments, lectures, games, quizzes etc.

Social Club in Ramat Hasharon
ESRA Ramat Hasharon Branch has regular meetings, on a Tuesday at 16:00 at Beit Malinov, 21 Bialik Blvd. Guest speakers are invited to talk on topics of their particular sphere of expertise, followed by questions and discussion. Refreshments are served.

Knitting Circles
Knitting Group in Netanya - help us knit for the underprivileged and enjoy a social morning. Call Hannah 09-833 3457.

A knitting circle meets every Tuesday morning at 10:00 at Beit Hanoar in Raanana. Come and join us -call Wendy 09-774 3176.

Knitters also knit at home - donations of wool are pooled and distributed for our home knitters - call Hilda 09-744 9206.

Garments made by our ESRA knitters are donated to immigrants and disadvantaged families all over Israel.

Bridge Club
A Duplicate Bridge Club meets at 20:00 every Monday in Raanana at Beit Fisher, 5 Klausner St. under the direction of Eddie 09-865 1215.
NIS 15 per session.

ESRA Herzliya group holds occasional Bridge mornings at Beit Juliana. Next one to be held Thursday 22nd May 2008 - contact Bess Hoffman at 09-957

Mother and Toddler Groups
Mother and Baby groups are active, by their nature, for a few years and are started up again by new mothers and their babies.

Scrabble Club
A Scrabble Club meets in Modiin on the second Monday of every month

Computer Club
The ESRA Computer Club initially conceived in 1996, reopened in March 2007 under the guidance of Michael Adler, each time hosting an expert dealing with a different aspect. Members should have a basic knowledge of how to operate a computer without having to be experts.
Subjects covered so far include Camera Use, Backing up, Viruses, Multimedia.
Future topics will cover Computer Telephony, Websites, Blogs, Windows Vista, Wi Fi, Bluetooth, Burning CDs, Creative memories etc.
An offshoot of the computer club is a hands-on Robotics Course in which participants build and program their own robot. The course is conducted by Enrique Nivasch to whom enquiries can be directed at 09 774 9447.

Meetings are at 20:15 on the third Sunday of the month in the synagogue hall at Beit Protea, Herzliya.

Garden Club
The ESRA Garden Club has developed from small beginnings to a wide ranging interest group. There is a regular feature What To Do in the Garden This Month; plus a guest speaker on a particular theme each meeting; plus visits to nurseries, or other places of interest.

Book Shop & Book Clubs
ESRA's Second Hand Book Shop is situated in Beit Fisher, 5 Klausner St. Raanana. Opening hours:
Sunday-Friday 09:00 - 13:00. Come along and browse, and chat with our volunteer librarians who will help you choose your books. NIS 5 - 10, all proceeds to ESRA funds.
A new Book shop opened in March 2008 in the Caesarea area - Behind the Or Akiva Shopping Mall. Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays 10:00 - 12 noon.

Book Clubs are a wonderful way of widening your literary knowledge and meeting new people. There are currently ESRA book clubs in the following locations:

ESRA: THE NEW GENERATION
A new young dynamic Social Group for ages 25 - 45.
Initial meeting took place December 2007 at the Kalmin's home in Raanana,
followed by our official launch social event in March at the Nightline Club, in Ra'anana industrial area where we
had fun, got to know one another and raised funds for scholarships for ESRA's Project to benefit Ethiopian Youth.
