CENTER FOR TREATMENT OF FAMILY VIOLENCE

Rationale:
To reduce domestic violence by providing individual, This is a model, pioneering a dynamic approach of working couple or group therapy. There are rehabilitation programs for with volunteers and a specific needs group. the residents of the local community of the Sharon area who are either the victims or perpetrators of family violence.

Partners:
Project is in partnership with the Ministry of Welfare, local Social Welfare Departments and the local municipalities.

Operation:
The Regional Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Family Violence is a joint project of the Ministry of Welfare, five municipalities (Ramat Hasharon, Herzliya, Hod Hasharon and South Hasharon), and ESRA. It opened in 1994.

Program:
Social and employment rehabilitation programs, individual, couple and group counseling, therapeutic workshops for children who are witnesses of family violence, workshops for men, women and couples, and community theater with the victimized women.

Community Theater Group
For women, who, as part of their rehabilitation, write about and perform their experiences as abused or victimized women, thus educating the community whilst raising their self esteem.
