TRACK CENTERS FOR
YOUTH

Rationale:
To provide immigrant teenagers a neighborhood social-educational
center where they can receive tuition, counseling and a welcoming
atmosphere as an alternative to street culture, to prevent them
becoming school dropouts or falling in with criminal elements and
instead provide positive role models, pushing them up the ladder
to success. |
| Operation:
The centers operate daily Sunday to Thursday from 17:00 - 21:00
throughout the year, staffed by professional teachers and youth
workers, and aided by ESRA volunteers.
The
Program:
Tuition is provided in Hebrew, English, Mathematics and bible studies
to ensure that each youngster will attain full matriculation, thereby
enabling him/her to pursue higher education or improved chances
of a good job. In addition, preparation for the army, counseling,
drama and computer activities are given.
