CRISIS WELFARE ASSISTANCE

 


Rationale:
To assist immigrants from distressed countries and other persons in need who find themselves in temporary crisis due to health, employment or other difficulties, who can benefit from financial help. This help, often small, enables the families to get over the difficult moments of their life.

Operation:
The Welfare Fund started operation in 1990. Applications are received from individuals or social workers. These are assessed by a team of volunteers including professionals, who make the appropriate financial allocations.

The Program:
Help is given for health, education, scholarships, training for professionals and short-term supplementary income.

Total Number of Recipients:
More than 8,000 people have been assisted since April 1990.
