ETHIOPIAN EMBROIDERY PROJECT

Rationale:
To allow Ethiopian women to work at home using their ethnic embroidery skills thereby gaining a supplementary income whilst being able to care for their children.

The Program:
Fifty women using their talent, rich history and traditional patterns, embroider mezzuzot, Hamsot, bags, challah covers, ark curtains and other items. The project is organized and run by volunteers who also market the goods in Israel and abroad.

Locations:
Groups meet in Kfar Saba, Netanya, Rehovot, Rosh Ha'ayin and Yavneh.
