Volunteering Activities include the following:

Techushon in Neve Amal - volunteers help once a week with special needs children
Befriending the Elderly in their homes - English or Hebrew/Yiddish speaking
Meals on Wheels. Meals are packed at Beth Protea and delivered to needy recipients - drivers always needed.
English tutoring in schools - Helping individuals or small groups of children in the school during school hours - age 10 till Bagrut

Ramat Hasharon

Ramat Hasharon is a well established branch with regular meetings.
Monthly Branch Meeting: usually with a guest speaker: Meetings are held at Beit Malinov in Bialik Boulevard on alternate months on a Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Discussion Group: Last Thursday of every month in private homes. (Waiting list of those wishing to join group).
Annual Concert at Yad Lebanim hosting young musicians from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at TAU, to raise funds for local projects.
Volunteering Activities: English Tutoring at the Alon High School (Oral Bagrut Preparation);
Kidum Noar Project - 3 afternoons a week; and teaching adult groups at Beit Malinov;
Volunteerring at the Techushon in Ramat Hasharon.
Projects: An afternoon moadonit in the Morasha neighbourhood; English Library at Moadon 2000 (Kidum No'ar) for junior and senior High School; helping needy families recommended by local Social and Welfare Department.

Kfar Saba

The Kfar Saba Branch meets on the first Wednesday of every month at its clubhouse in the shelter in 11 Nachshon St. 09-765 8361.
Its regular social activities include:

Caesarea/ Five Towns

(Caesarea, Zichron Yaakov, Binyamina, Hadera &
Pardes Hana-Karkur)

Since its inception in 2004, ESRA Caesarea has mounted a wide range of events.
Highpoints have been Jazz with dinner in a beautiful private garden in Caesarea, a Palm Court tea at the Dan Caesarea Hotel, a tour and brunch at the Caesarea Port and talks on subjects ranging from homeopathic medicine to the Israeli elections. Moving slightly further afield, ESRA Caesarea held a Day at the Races at the racecourse near Pardes Hanna, a wine tasting at Tishbi, near Zichron Ya'akov and a visit to the magnificent gardens at Ramat Hanadiv. Future plans include more events, and tours to places of interest locally.
From June 2007 this branch includes Zichron Yaakov and all surrounding areas
In March 2008 a new ESRA second hand bookshop was opened
at Or Akiva, near Caesarea (behind the Or Akiva shopping mall). Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon

Kochav Yair & Zur Yigal

The Kochav Yair Branch includes Zur Yigal and surrounding communities.
We no longer meet on a regular basis but do participate in the general activities organised by ESRA.

We have ESRA products available for sale for gifts and personal use, such as the cookbooks and Ethiopian embroidered products, and have a loyal team of volunteers who distribute ESRA magazines every couple of months.
We welcome any newcomers to our area.

Hadar area (Kfar Yona, Pardessiya, Emek Hefer)

This branch covers the area of Kfar Yona, Pardessiya, Zoran, Tel Mond, Nordia, Kadima, Even Yehuda and all the surrounding moshavim. This group was instrumental in setting up the first ESRA Techushon and actively supported it for many years. The Techushon has now moved to the Netanya area.
A revival of ESRA Hadar (Lev Hasharon) area for both social and community activities is taking place in 2008.

Kfar Vradim area

This branch started in 2003 with monthly get togethers in private homes to meet new members, social evenings with guest lecturers, a talk on 'Hasbara - what can we do to help' , and a series of workshops on 'Psalms' led by our local Rabbi Zvi Berger.
Our venue for meetings is in the local 50+ Club.
We have interest groups for handiwork.
A Scrabble Club meets on the 1st Sunday of each month.
Volunteers help with English and math teaching at local schools.
A volunteer teaches chess in Hebrew at a neighbouring Druze village.
We organise BINGO once a month at Kishorit, a home for special needs adults and adolescents.
At all meetings we display goods for sale from the Ethiopian Emboidery project

The Netanya branch has a Volunteer Coordinators Committee that meets once a month.
We are involved in a wide range of projects and welcome anyone who is interested in helping.

This branch was created in 2005 and covers the city of Beersheva and the nearby communities of Omer and Meitar.
They currently have a Rummikub group which meets on the first Saturday evening of the month.

VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITIES:

We have adopted the Moadonit for Children at Risk in Kiryat Moshe and Meshi, a sheltered workshop for the mentally ill. Join us and help support these projects.
We also need volunteers to help people with hospital visits, red tape, or provide transportation, or offer emotional support etc.

Gila Schwartz sells the products of the Ethiopian embroidery group and other ESRA items such as cook books.
We collect toys - new or used in good condition - for a toy library for olim in the 'Shahak' program. If you have toys to donate, please call Lucille 03-941 0550.

This group held monthly social/cultural meetings at Moadon Payis Legil Hazahav in Hadar St. Kiryat Ono until June 2007

Each month a guest speakers was hosted, refreshments were served and participants contributed food for the needy. A Gala Evening with entertainers was held annually.
